Personal Financial Management Services Degree Program

PFMS is a popular degree option that prepares students to work with individuals and families in a wide range of financial service occupations, from insurance, investments, or banking to financial counseling, education, or a social change occupation. This degree program gives graduates a broad understanding of household financial management. Many students choose to complement this degree with a minor in business, finance, marketing, accounting, economics, social work, or other related program.

Students in any of our degree programs may prepare to sit for the Certified Retirement Counselor® (CRC®) or Certified Retirement Administrator® (CRA®) designation offered through the International Foundation for Retirement Education (InFRE). In addition, students may take the exam that leads to earning the Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) designation before they graduate, which is offered through the Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education (AFCPE).

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the marks CFP®, Certified Financial Planner™, and CFP (with flame logo) ®, which it awards to individuals who successfully complete initial and ongoing certification requirements.
