Michael Guillemette, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Personal Financial Planning at the University of Missouri. He passed the CFP® Certification Exam in March of 2013. He currently teaches risk management and household economics courses for the department. Michael received his Bachelor's degrees in Risk Management and Education from the University of Georgia. He received his PhD in Financial Planning from Texas Tech University. While at Texas Tech he taught courses on risk management, insurance, employee benefits, investments, retirement planning, financial counseling and personal finance. Michael has multiple publications in the area of risk tolerance assessment. He has worked for the Center for Financial Planning and Investment at California State University, FJY Financial and Zurich. He is married to Ashley Guillemette and his hobbies include football and traveling.
